Nowadays the company is a significant manufacturer of domestic colour-printed plastic packages and a trailblazer of the industry. The HD-print quality plastic products with up to 10 colours are in the core of the company’s expertise, and are suitable for even challenging packaging needs, promoting the visibility of the customers product and increasing its sales value.
Muovijaloste is a part of the chemistry industry’s global Responsible Care volunteer program, which is the longest and most recognized sustainable development program in the industry. We are also part of the Chemical Industry Energy Efficiency Agreement 2017-2025. Energy efficiency agreements are an important part of Finland’s energy and climate strategy and the primary means of promoting energy efficiency in Finland.
History of Muovijaloste
The company, which specializes in the production of multi-colored printed plastic packaging, was founded in 1949. On 24 October 1949, student Hannu Posti co-founded Muovijaloste Oy with his father Hannes Post and the technical genius of his time, the fine mechanic Kyösti Smått.
Hannu Post’s heart beat for new technology. There was a shortage of materials, machinery and equipment in post-war Finland. It did not discourage Hannu Post, but on the contrary inspired him to develop and build production machines himself. The development of technology continued, although he took over the management of Muovijaloste Oy after the sudden death of his father Hannes Post in 1964. Hannu Posti’s interest in the latest technology, computers and chemistry greatly helped the company’s technical development, which has been the key to Muovijaloste’s success throughout the company’s history. The company is a significant part of the development and history of the Finnish plastics industry.
